LOS ANGELES -- Following the sacking of Becki Tweed as head coach in December, Angel City F.C. is changing up its roster for the 2025 season. With new extensions on key players and fresh signings, the club is focusing on expanding and strengthening the squad with new faces. Under new Sporting Director Mark Parsons, the club has brought in new contracts from across the globe.
New Signings
Savy King
Defender Savy King is making her way down the coastline in a trade with NorCal rival Bay F.C. in exchange for $200,000 in intra-league transfer funds and an additional $100,000 in 2026. King is an L.A. native who was drafted second overall in the 2024 draft by Bay F.C. after completing her freshman year with the North Carolina Tar Heels. She’s the third-youngest draftee in league history and made 20 match appearances during her rookie year.
“Savy is a very exciting talent with a huge future and we are delighted to welcome her to Angel City,” said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons in a press release. “Savy has shown across college, the U-20s and her NWSL rookie season that she is ready to have an immediate impact. We believe our environment will be able to push Savy to new heights and I am excited to see her impact in helping us reach our goals for many years.”
Miyabi Moriya
Angel City signed Japanese international Miyabi Moriya from INAC Kobe Leonessa to a one-year deal with a club option for the 2026 NWSL season. Moriya made 118 appearances with the club since her debut in 2015. Last year, she was named the WE League Valuable Player after earning a spot on the league’s Best XI.
Alanna Kennedy
A new face is traveling to Los Angeles from across the pond. Alanna Kennedy has signed with Angel City FC through 2025 with a mutual option for 2026 from Manchester City where she’s played since 2021. The Australian defender previously played for the NWSL with the Orlando Pride and the Western New York Flash. She helped the Flash win the 2016 NWSL Championship.
