The momentum from Thursday's victory did not carry forward for the Vegas Golden Knights as they fell 4-3 at the hands of the Dallas Stars on Friday night at the American Airlines Center.
It was a solid start for the Golden Knights, as Jack Eichel took advantage of a power play to provide his 13th score of the season and put the squad out in front 1-0 early.

The center fired a rocket from the left side of the ice as he extended his point streak to five consecutive games.
Dallas, however, managed to come up with a power play score of their own just a couple of minutes later as Roope Hintz used his 20th of the season to tie things up at one. The rest of the period was relatively quiet as the game headed to the second all tied up.
After a scoreless opening seven minutes to the second, Jason Robertson used his first score of the evening to put the Stars in front for the first time all afternoon with his 16th of the season. Golden Knights' Shea Theodore quickly had the answer, striking less than two minutes later on the team's second power play goal of the game.

Tomas Hertl managed to pick up his 21st assist of the season on the play as he fed Theodore nicely to help Vegas even the score at two.
The Stars would manage to grab the momentum in the final minutes of the period, scoring twice in a span of two minutes to claim a 4-2 advantage heading into the third period. The scores came from Jamie Benn, who had his 13th of the season, and Jason Robertson, who came through with his second of the game.
In the third, the Golden Knights managed to cut the deficit to one at the halfway mark as Jack Eichel fired in his second score of the contest from short range.

The deficit stood at 4-3 with 9:25 remaining, but Vegas could not complete the late rally as they failed to find the equalizer. Dropping to 30-15-4, they finished off a quick two-game road trip at 1-1.
Eichel, who was the main catalyst on the offensive end for the Golden Knights, opened up about his frustrations following the loss.
"I thought we did a lot of good things in the third, liked a lot of the things we did in the first, just that middle period that didn't go our way and it ended up costing us," he said. "We're finding ourselves in the losing column a little too much lately and we don't want this to continue to go in the way that it's going."
Vegas will have a day off on Saturday before returning home to host the Florida Panthers on Sunday evening. It will be the second meeting between Vegas and the defending champs this season, who currently sit in second place in the Atlantic Divison at 28-18-3.
Puck drop is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. PT.
