The Los Angeles Kings traveled to Winnipeg to faceoff against the Jets and came out with a 2-1 win in overtime thanks to winger Adrian Kempe.

On a two-on-one scenario with captain center Anze Kopitar, Kempe dragged to the middle around a defenseman and put it past Jets netminder Eric Comrie. This was Kempe’s 20th goal of the season and pushed his goal streak to four straight games.

Kempe also had an assist on the opening goal of the game for the Kings. His initial shot was tipped in front of the cage by winger Alex Turcotte which snuck by Comrie.

The Jets' only goal came with just under 10 minutes remaining in the third period to tie the game at one. On the powerplay, Winnipeg strung a series of passes together across the ice between wingers Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi before finally hitting center Mark Scheifele on the backside for a one-timer.

Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper continued to shine saving 18 of 19 shots during the game and leading the Kings to their fifth straight win — not counting the postponed game against the Calgary Flames.

The Kings will go to Calgary on Saturday at 7 p.m. to see if they can keep their streak of wins going against a Pacific Division foe.
