LAS VEGAS -- The Montreal Canadiens scored three consecutive goals to end the Vegas Golden Knights six-game win streak with a 3-2 victory at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday.

Zach Whitecloud and Noah Hanifin each scored, while Adin Hill made 19 saves for the Golden Knights (25-9-3).

“Kind of some self-inflicted plays,” Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said. “We probably stopped playing halfway through the second the way we needed to keep pushing, and it caught up to us.”

How The Goals Were Scored

Whitecloud scored the opening goal, finishing a Tomas Hertl pass at 2:23 of the first period.

Hanifin extended it to 2-0 at 19:49 with a wrist shot from the high slot.

The Canadiens then scored the final three goals of the game.

Cole Caufield nabbed career goal No. 100 with a goal from the left circle off a Shea Theodore turnover at 17:27 of the second.

Emil Heieman tipped David Savarfd’s shot on net at 7:58 of the third period to tie the game.

Then Kirby Dach scored the game-winner at 10:09, toe dragging around Brayden McNabb and beat Hill with a backhand from the bottom of the left circle.

“I think in the third period, we sat back a little bit too much, and no matter what the score is, you've got to stay on your toes and attack,” Hanifin said. “I thought in that third we kind of got away from that, which is not normal for us, so I think moving forward, that's something we can take away.”
