INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Rams get trounced by the Eagles 37-20 on Sunday night. Los Angeles’ defense struggled to contain the Eagles’ offense and their offense stalled after an early score. The Rams are now 5-6 as they are still in the mix for first place in the NFC West.
Here are takeaways from the Rams win over the Eagles:
Williams returns where he belongs: the end zone
Rams running back Kyren Williams had a 10-game touchdown streak earlier in the season that ended on October 20th against the Las Vegas Raiders.
He hadn’t scored since.
Williams returned to the end zone in this game. He scored on a one-yard run with 1:01 in the first quarter.
Williams’ touchdown score came on a drive after he fumbled the ball at the Philadelphia’s 16-yard line.
Barkley dominates
Saquon Barkley was the star of the night by being completely unstoppable.
Barkley accounted for 302 yards (255 rushing and 47 receiving). He had rushing scores of 72 and 70 yards for the Eagles.
Barkley’s 255 yards were the most yards rushing by a player since 2009.
The Rams came into the game ranked 18th in stopping the run allowing 127.3 yards per game and the Eagles took clear advantage.
The Rams poor tackling allowed Barkley to put up a MVP performance.
Rams offensive line struggle to protect Stafford
The Eagles dominated the Rams upfront and was key in the win for Philadelphia.
Matthew Stafford was in a hurry all night as the Eagles front four dominated his offensive line.
Stafford was hit ten times with five of those hits being a sack.
The Rams scored 20 points with their final score coming late in the fourth quarter.
The offensive line has been an issue for the Rams throughout and if they want to make a push for the playoffs this group has to get better.
