THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - On Monday, Justin Turner, the former Dodgers third baseman, hosted his 8th annual Golf Classic at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA. The event was presented by The Justin Turner Foundation (JTF).

Justin Turner, President of the foundation, and Kourtney Turner, Vice President, received tremendous support during their largest annual fundraiser.

“It’s that time of year again where we put on our biggest fundraiser,” said Justin Turner. “This is definitely one of my favorite days on the calendar.  We love to be able to bring together so many of our loyal supporters at one of the most premier golf courses in South California.  It’s the perfect combination to raise funds to directly impact people in need right here in Los Angeles.”

The support from former teammates Turner, Corey Seager, Mookie Betts, Chris Taylor, and Joe Kelly was evident as they attended the Golf Tournament on Monday.

Even though he is no longer a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Turner continues to dedicate time to the city where he played for nine years.

“If it wasn’t for the city of LA and all the love and support we have gotten over those years, we probably wouldn’t be here today.” Turner said.

Kourtney Turner reflects on the impact they have made since starting their foundation. She recalled how they established the foundation in 2016, putting it together in just three weeks. At the time, the couple was uncertain about how things would unfold in the future.

“We are overjoyed to be hosting our 8th annual JT Golf Classic,” said Kourtney Turner. “We are so blown away by the support from our sponsors, participants and volunteers.  The event is our largest fundraiser of the year and it is always so incredible to see it all come together.  It’s the perfect way to kick off  the new year and another season of serving the community."

The Justin Turner Foundation aims to support homeless veterans, children and their families facing life-altering illnesses and diseases, as well as various youth baseball organizations.

JTF also supports and provides housing for veterans at The Dream Center in Los Angeles. Over the years, the foundation has given over 70,000 toys and 14,000 bicycles to children through its holiday giving efforts.

The Justin Turner Foundation collaborated with the Dream Center during the COVID-19 pandemic to support their drive-through and walk-up food.

An estimated 12,000 individuals received meals each day through the drive-through service, leading to approximately 900,000 meals served throughout 2020. The Dream Center named their food bank the Justin & Kourtney Turner Food Bank.
