THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Angel City FC announced Thursday it signed an agreement with California Lutheran University to take over a nine-acre site on their campus for their performance center.
The club is moving into and remodeling the former practice facility of the Los Angeles Rams, which has approximately a 50,000-square-foot indoor space, the largest dedicated to an NWSL team.
"This is a major milestone in the history of our club," said Angel City Co-Founder and President Julie Uhrman. "We are committed to building a championship-level experience for our staff and players.”
The facility, which will be ready for the 2025 preseason, will have a full-size pitch and a half and will serve the players and first-team staff.
The performance center also has a 5,400-square-foot gym, custom lockers (including a dedicated locker room for players under 18), an elevated nutrition area (with meals prepared onsite), a children’s playroom and more.
"From a sporting perspective, having a performance center that truly meets the unique needs of our athletes is absolutely critical," said General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano.
Angel City announced the completion of its transaction with new controlling owners, Willow Bay and Bob Iger, in early Sept. The transaction valued the club at $250 million and included a $50 million capital injection.
Uhrman told The Sporting Tribune in Sept. that Bay and Iger gave the club “options” regarding upgraded training grounds.
“This new dedicated performance center, the largest in the NWSL, lives up to our ambitions, setting a new bar for what professional athletes need to become champions on the pitch and support their needs off the pitch.”
The site neighbors their current temporary facility at Cal Lutheran, which has been Angel City’s training home since its inaugural year. The agreement is for up to four years.

Champion Construction is leading the interior renovation, Longhorn Lockers is creating the new lockers, CBRE Design Collective is working on project design and Turner & Townsend is the project manager.
