MEMPHIS –– Ja Morant scored 20 points to lead the Memphis Grizzlies (5-4) to a 131-114 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers (4-4) Wednesday night at FedEx Forum before 17,794. Los Angeles has lost four of their last five games.
Morant left in the third quarter with a right hamstring injury and did not return. The extent of his Injury has not been revealed.
The Grizzlies led 59-53 at halftime.
With Anthony Davis nursing an injured heel and Rui Hachimura recovering from an illness, Memphis outrebounded Los Angeles 50-37 and dominated, scoring in the paint 60-44.
The game took a turn in the third quarter when Jay Huff hit three consecutive 3-pointers that ballooned a 72-68 lead into a 85-71 Grizzlies lead.
Memphis had seven players score in double figures.
Jaylen Wells scored 20 points, Jaren Jackson Jr. had 20 points and six rebounds and Santi Aldama scored 11 points and had 12 rebounds for Memphis.
Lebron James had 39 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Lakers. Austin Reaves had 19 points and dished out five assists.
