SEATTLE — The Rams pickup a huge come from behind win over divisional foe Seattle Seahawks 26-20 in an overtime thriller on Sunday evening. Los Angeles rallied from a 13-3 deficit to win the game. The Rams now improve to 4-4 placing them right in the mix for first place in the NFC West.
Here are takeaways from the win against the Seahawks:
Kinchens makes a house call
The Rams looked like they were heading towards an early fourth quarter deficit but all things changed in one play.
As the pass rush got near Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith he threw a pass that ended up in the hands of safety Kamren Kinchens. He took the ball 103-yards for the defensive touchdown.
Kinchens touchdown score was the longest interception return in team history.
Kinchens had two of the Rams' three interceptions of Smith, both in the red zone in the fourth quarter.
The streak comes to an end
Rams running back Kyren Williams ten game touchdown streak comes to an end.
Williams, has been a touchdown machine for the Rams since last season but today the Seahawks found away to keep him out of the end zone.
Seattle found a way to contain Williams for the most part as he ran for just 69 yards with 22 carries.
He was able to add a 26-yard reception as well.
Willams has been the most potent offensive threat for Los Angeles all season long and will look to start a new touchdown streak next week.
Demarcus calls game
Demarcus Robinson made a spectacular one-handed catch to win the game for the Rams in overtime over divisional rival, Seahawks.
Robinson finished the game with 6 catches for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns.
This is the second straight game that Robinson has caught two touchdowns for Los Angeles.
He stepped up in a game that Puka Nacua was ejected from in the second quarter.
Robinsons emergence these past two weeks have been much needed for a Rams offense looking to take a step forward since it’s early season struggles.
The front four wrecks havoc
The Rams front has been a dominant force the past few weeks as the team makes a push up the standings.
Los Angeles sacked Geno Smith seven times in today’s matchup with six of those sacks coming from the bullies up front.
Rookies Braden Fiske and Jared Verse are starting to emerge for the Rams defense.
The two former Florida State Seminoles combined for three sacks in the overtime win.
Second year pros Byron Young and Kobie Turner each recorded a sack in the game. Those two have been the leaders of the group upfront and have picked up their play recently.
If they weren’t sack Smith in the game, the group up front was pressuring the Seahawks quarterback or closing lane on Kenneth Walker & Seattle’s run.
The play upfront will be crucial to success for the defense the rest of the year.
