EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – First-round draft pick Liam Greentree, the 24th overall pick, is among three recent draft picks who were among the players the Kings announced last week will take part in their Rookie Faceoff.

The tournament includes six other teams and will be played from Sept. 13, through Sept. 16 at Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

At the event, the Kings will show off 11 of their previous draft picks. Goaltender Carter George also will be one of the draft picks attending.

The third and final 2024 draft pick that will be seen is Jared Woolley. The 6-foot-5 Woolley is a great fit for the Kings' defensive core.

Like George, he is 18 years old and still has to grow in order to shine at the highest stage.

The other draft picks will include many players from 2023. These players include forward Koehn Ziemmer and defensemen Jakob Dvorak and Matthew Mania.

The Kings will have seven players from AHL affiliate Ontario Reign participating. This group includes defensemen Brandt Clarke and goaltender Erik Portillo.

This past year, Clarke was given a chance to play for the Kings and scored an overtime game-winner in Boston. He had a great year in the AHL,  gaining 46 points in 50 games and was the second-best rookie defenseman.

Portillo will have his first of many encounters with George. The two will be competing to start for the Reign.
