TORONTO — Someone tell Triple H that WWE isn’t the only company that is in a new “era” because we are here at The Sporting Tribune! You see the new site design and layout!
With that being said I am very excited to introduce you to Unlikely Predictions (Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez available wherever you get your podcasts) which will go over the biggest weekends of the year in the world of professional wrestling and what I think might happen during the events. Which leads us to Money in The Bank weekend with Money In The Bank & NXT’s Heatwave!
Money In the Bank Ladder Match: IYO SKY vs Chelsea Green vs Lyra Valkyria vs Tiffany Stratton vs Naomi vs Zoey Stark
A matchup that has everything you could want for a ladder match: A hometown country favorite in Chelsea Green, a veteran in Naomi, a dependable person in the ring with Zoey Stark, the highflyers in Iyo Sky & Tiffany Stratton, and the future in Lyra Valkyria. Each person has an angle on why’d they win but to me this should go to Chelsea Green. Historically speaking the women’s MITB match has led to a champion 100% of the time and Chelsea’s handling of the briefcase and pure entertainment would make it meaningful.
Sami Zayn (c) vs Bron Breakker for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
As we speak nobody has more potential in the eyes of WWE management than Bron Breakker and for him to win this title would be a stepping stone in the path to a world championship. To get that title and break Canada’s heart by defeating one of the son’s in Sami Zayn that might create cinema. To me the right place for the title change is at next month’s SummerSlam so I’m going with Sami Zayn to retain.
Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton & Kevin Owens vs The Bloodline
Every time you get sick and tired of the bloodline storyline they pull you back in and the rumors are Solo vs Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam but where does Roman Reigns play into all of this? You can’t imagine a SummerSlam in Cleveland Browns Stadium without Roman can you? I don’t get excited at the prospect of Cody vs Solo at SummerSlam but it seems like the road we are heading in and with the in-ring debut of Jacob Fatu look for The Bloodline to pull out the victory.
Money In the Bank Ladder Match: Jey Uso vs Carmelo Hayes vs Andrade vs Chad Gable vs LA Knight vs Drew McIntyre
So who interferes in the match for this one? CM Punk? The Wyatt Sicks? Logan Paul? Drake? I don’t think we see totally madness with all 3 showing up but I expect to see CM Punk cost Drew McIntyre and Logan to cost LA Knight to set up a Summerslam match which leads me to believe that the odds on favorite Jey Uso could win but then how does that play into the Bloodline storyline that he HAS TO BE INVOLVED IN? What if Chad Gable wins and somehow gives the briefcase to Uncle Howdy? That’s it, this thing is called Unlikely Predictions and that’s it: Chad Gable is the winner!
Damian Priest (c) vs Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship
The match with stipulations that seem very unnecessary and intriguing make this the most difficult thing to predict so simply put here it is: Damian Priest retains. Is a Seth Rollins heel turn incoming? Only time will tell!
HIDDEN GEM OF THE WEEKEND?
Sol Ruca vs Kelani Jordan for the NXT North Women’s American Championship: Seriously steal someone’s Peacock account to watch this live it will be that damn good.
